A bike trip from Mariánská Týnice to Plasy. From 7:00pm a programme in Plasy. A documentary about the Old Route, a concert by Sagitta, a lecture about the Baroque sky and stars & a night sky watch.
The Old Plasy Route was a historical pilgrim route between the Plasy Monastery and Mariánská Týnice. This originally Baroque route was created in the 18th century during Abbot Evžen Tyttl's times. The Old Route started in the Plasy Abbey, climbed up to the Sokolka seclusion, continued to the Rouda gamekeeper's house, then to the statue of St John of Nepomuk over Hadačka, continued to the Sechutice farmyard, around the Pivovárek pond to the priory and the Mariánská Týnice pilgrim church to the Hubenov farmyard. The section between Plasy and Sokolka has been preserved until today and a red tourist route runs through it. The Old Route association endeavours to revive the old route.
The first part of the programme is a bike ride from Mariánská Týnice to Plasy. The cycling group will take off at 5:00pm in Mariánská Týnice. There will be a few stops along the way at important places. Arrival in Plasy is planned for 6:30pm. Bus Line 2015 will be ready by the convent and the main programme will start there at 7:00pm. It will begin with a documentary about the Old Route conceived as a video guide. It will be followed by a concert by Sagitta, and then a lecture about the sky and stars by experts from the Pilsen observatory. If weather permits, there will be night sky watching.
